Reba McEntire’s latest sitcom, Happy’s Place, is officially renewed for a third season, NBC confirmed on Monday (February 2).
“We’re back!” McEntire commented on NBC’s announcement on Instagram. The legendary country artist stars as Bobbie, who is “a tough but lovable woman who inherits her late father’s Tennessee tavern - only to discover that her new co-owner is also the half-sister she never knew she had,” per NBC. “They couldn’t be more different, but they’ll navigate this new life together... because at Happy’s Place, everyone is family.”
The Happy’s Place cast also includes McEntire’s fiancé, Melissa Peterman, former Reba co-star Melissa Peterman, plus Belissa Escobedo, Pablo Castelblanco and Tokala Black Elk. The first season of the Julie Abbott- and Kevin Abbott-created show premiered in October 2024. Between the first and second season, McEntire caught up with iHeartCountry about her work on sitcoms. She said she considers the most important element of a successful show to be “the writing. If it’s not on the page, it’s not on the stage. …it is very important to have heart in there. You gotta laugh, but you gotta cry. You’ve got to hit all of those emotions.
“I’ve got to listen to the arc of the second season, and it’s gonna be good,” McEntire teased of the second season in spring 2025. “And all of the characters – and I do call us ‘characters,’ the actors, we are characters in our own right. We’re so diversified that we bring to the table something in real life that I think comes through on the screen. …We love each other. We respect each other’s opinion on things, their individual lifestyle, their background, their heritage. It’s a fun family.”
Happy’s Place has “delivered comedic brilliance over (its) first two seasons, truly connecting with our audience with hilarious characters, NBC’s Lisa Katz said in a press release on Monday. She thanked producers and cast and crew members, who “will now continue to tell their laugh-out-loud stories.”
The second season of Happy’s Place premiered in November 2025. It’s set to return on February 27, 2026. The comedy airs on NBC on Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and is available to stream the following day on Peacock.
