Hunter Hayes Evolves With 'Heart-Forward Storytelling' In Upcoming Era

Hunter Hayes announced long-awaited details about his Evergreen chapter on Thursday (December 4).

The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist will release his new album on March 6, 2026. Later that month, he’ll kick off his headlining “Evergreen Tour” with special guests BLÜ EYES and Franklin Jonas & The Byzantines on select dates. Hayes incorporates influences spanning genres — including pop, country, R&B, indie rock and more — throughout the Evergreen record, which delves into messages of growth, connection and joy, per a press release issued Thursday. Hayes recorded the album with Alex Flagstad. The singer-songwriter is hailed “a songwriter in constant evolution, whose heart-forward storytelling continues to resonate across generations,” the release states.

Evergreen started as a series of letters from my future self,” Hayes said in a statement. “In some ways a prayer, and in some ways manifestation. I wanted to make a project from the future. It’s full of hope, optimism, light and love. It’s an escape from reality as well as a new way to appreciate the good things in our everyday life, and how every experience shapes us to better and brighter versions of ourselves as we create a better version of our future.”

So far, Hayes has released “Wait,” “Fragile,” “Every Piece” and “Around The Sun” from Evergreen. The full project sees the Louisiana-born artist questioning “long-held beliefs about performance, worthiness, love, and masculinity, embracing a definition of strength that is soft and evolving.” The result is “his most fully expressive artistic chapter yet.”

Hayes has shared some insight into the Evergreen chapter ahead of Thursday’s announcement. Most recently, he released his Evergreen Christmas Sessions EP with “Winter Wonderland,” “Run Run Rudolph,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and “Silent Night.” Earlier this year, he shared the Road To Evergreen YouTube series to share a glimpse into his creative process (including the “studio” in his living room). The project is about “finding something, realizing all the dreams you've had and really manifesting the things you want for yourself and creating more of what you want in the world,” he said in a previous interview with iHeartCountry. “Evergreen is my life right now. I’m living and breathing it, and I cannot wait to share it.

“There's a lot of moving pieces right now, but this has been a really fun chapter to build musically,” Hayes said in an interview with iHeartCountry when he released “Every Piece” in September. “I feel like it's come together in such a beautiful way. …It just feels like everything's falling into place, and I want everybody to stay tuned because a lot of fun and exciting things (are) happening.”

Tickets to the “Evergreen Tour” will be available to the general public beginning Friday, December 12 at 10 a.m. local time. See the list of tour stops below.
