Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb reportedly suffered a high ankle sprain during his team's loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday (September 21), sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday (September 22).

"Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday’s loss to the Bears that makes him unlikely to play Sunday night vs. the Packers, per sources. The Cowboys want to see how Lamb is doing the next 10-14 days before making further determinations about his status," Schefter wrote on his X account.

Lamb exited Sunday's game in the first quarter after only appearing in six plays, returning briefly for the the first play of the second quarter before once again exiting permanently, but downplayed the injury while speaking to reporters.

"For sure," Lamb responded when asked if he would potentially be able to play through the pain via ESPN. "Absolutely."

Lamb recorded more than 100 yards in each of his first two games before being held without a catch in limited action on Sunday.

"I think that was kind of self-explanatory," Lamb said when asked about what appeared to be lumbering while in motion. "I wasn't even able to go, so, yeah, I was rushing in there a little bit there."

Lamb claimed that his condition improved as the game continued, despite being ruled out in the second quarter.

"This was like one of those protect me away from myself type of deals," Lamb said via ESPN. "Once I started feeling much better and then I started getting strength back in my ankle as far as mobility and being able to cut and like real dynamic movements, I was ready to go back out there, but [the medical staff] told me no."
