Fall is coming ā which means itās the perfect time to fill your kitchen with the warm, spiced aroma of pumpkin bread. This recipe bakes into soft loaves or yummy muffins that make your whole house smell like autumn. Pair with coffee, cider, or a crisp fall morning!
š Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 ½ cups flour
- 2 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- ā cup water
- 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin purƩe
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 6ā12 oz semisweet chocolate chipsĀ (optional ā or swap in golden raisins)

- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease three 8x4-inch loaf pans or line muffin tins.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and baking soda.
- In another bowl, stir oil, water, pumpkin purƩe, and eggs until smooth.
- Pour the wet mix into the dry, stirring until no flour remains.
- Fold in chocolate chips (or other mix-ins).
- Divide into pans or muffin tins, filling about ā full.
- Bake loaves forĀ 45ā50 minutesĀ or muffins forĀ about 40 minutes,Ā until a toothpick comes out clean.
