James Madison University has expanded its future football schedule, finalizing home-and-home series with both the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Ohio University, the athletic department announced on September 9, 2025.
The Dukes will host UNLV at Bridgeforth Stadium on September 25, 2027, before traveling west to face the Rebels in Las Vegas on August 31, 2030. That contest will mark the furthest west JMU football has traveled under current agreements, surpassing previous trips to Weber State in 2021 and Utah State in 2023.
The first-ever meetings with Ohio begin with a road game in Athens on September 16, 2028, followed by the return matchup in Harrisonburg on September 15, 2035.
In addition to those FBS matchups, JMU also signed agreements to host two FCS opponents at Bridgeforth: Houston Christian on September 9, 2028, and Central Connecticut on September 1, 2029.
With these additions, JMU has completed its non-conference schedule through 2029.
