The Community Foundation Celebrates 2024 Scholarship Recipients

The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County is thrilled to announce its roster of scholarship recipients for 2024. This year, students were awarded a total of $113,000 in scholarships, with an additional $151,900 in renewal scholarships from the nonprofit organization. These scholarships have been distributed to thirty-five colleges, universities, and vocational schools, including three community colleges and one vocational school. Notably, students will be attending nineteen different Virginia-based institutions and sixteen out-of-state schools.

Ann Siciliano, Director of Program Services, expressed her gratitude to the generous donors who make these life-changing scholarships possible. Often, these scholarships bridge the gap between a student’s ability to pursue higher education beyond high school and financial constraints. The selection committees were deeply moved by the compelling stories shared by this year’s applicants, and they are confident that these recipients will thrive in their academic journeys.

The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County administers a diverse range of merit-based and need-based scholarship programs, awarding over $200,000 annually to high school, community college, and university students. Each scholarship reflects a profound belief in the transformative power of education, enabling students to realize their academic aspirations.
