Megan Moroney is focused on her upcoming performances at the 2024 CMT Music Awards, including stunning wardrobe changes throughout the show. The “28th of June” superstar appeared for the first time on CBS Mornings on Monday (April 1), days ahead of the highly-anticipated awards show.

Moroney is taking the stage twice during the CMT Music Awards, including to televised premiere performance of her heartbreak ballad “No Caller ID,” which released earlier this year, and to join Old Dominion to perform “Can’t Break Up Now.” Moroney told CBS Mornings co-hosts Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson “I love to dress up,” and she’s planning “at least three” outfits for the show. She said in a previous interview with iHeartCountry that she ’s known for “being over-the-top on stage. …I definitely don’t half-a** outfits.”

This year, Moroney was also revealed as one of the top nominees at the 2024 CMT Music Awards. She’s up for Female Video of the Year (“I’m Not Pretty”), Collaborative Video of the Year (“Can’t Break Up Now” with Old Dominion) and CMT Digital-First Performance of the Year (“I’m Not Pretty,” from CMT Digital Campfire Sessions). Other top nominees include Kelsea Ballerini, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson. Ballerini is also returning to solo host the 2024 show. Moroney, 26, skyrocketed in the music industry after releasing “Tennessee Orange,” which earned Moroney her first CMT Award last year (Breakthrough Female Video of the Year). Her highly-anticipated debut album and its extended deluxe edition also included “I’m Not Pretty,” “Girl in the Mirror,” “Traitor Joe,” “Why Johnny,” “Sad Songs for Sad People” and more. Moroney quickly became widely known for her vulnerable songwriting and powerful ability to connect with others. She's kicking off her headlining “Lucky 2.0 Tour” next month, and joining Kenny Chesney on his stadium tour this year. Moroney said on CBS Mornings that her career launch has been “so surreal. …I have to pinch myself every day.”

The 2024 CMT Music Awards will return to Moody Center in Austin, Texas, taking place on Sunday, April 7, and airing live (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT). Viewers can watch on CBS and stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
