If you travel Rt 250 East of Waynesboro to the top of Afton Mountain, you've passed the Colony House Motel, just west of the top of the mountain. I remember passing it as a kid going to Charlottesville with my parents and pass it often now taking the less hectic route to Charlottesville and Crozet. Looked like a pretty big place in its heyday. It was recently purchased and the new owners are demo'ing it to replace it with the Grey Pine Lodge. They shared some interior photos of the demo so far - which are interesting.
