Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Perform 'Happy Anywhere' At 2020 ACM Awards

After a months-long delay due to the ongoing pandemic, the 2020 Academy of Country Music Awards finally aired on Wednesday (September 16.) While the show looked a bit different this year—there was no audience, for starters—country music's biggest stars still brought their all for the performances.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani performed together at the awards show, singing their sweet duet 'Happy Anywhere.' The longtime couple proved their lyrics true during their performance. While many of the performers were either already in Nashville, where the show was filmed, or were able to travel to the Music City for the ACMs, Shelton and Stefani performed from their home in Los Angeles. Not only can these two be happy anywhere, they can clearly perform anywhere, as well.

In addition to performing virtually, Stefani and Shelton performed on a green screen set. Since they couldn't make it to Nashville themselves, they recreated a little bit of Nashville at home. With a little technology magic, they brought the famous Bluebird Cafe to California. If fans didn't know any better, they'd believe these two were able to make the trek to Nashville for the show.

Earlier this year, Shelton released a statement explaining why he and Stefani decided to release 'Happy Anywhere' shortly after their hit collaboration 'Nobody But You.' "Even though Gwen and I just had a single out, we decided that, under the circumstances, this year … man, there’s never been a better time for ‘Happy Anywhere,’” Shelton shared. “We’ve all been in quarantine and lockdown, and hopefully we’ve been doing that with somebody that we really love and enjoy being around. That’s what happened with Gwen and me this summer — and this entire year."
