Several weather observers and observation stations in around Canaan Valley WV, reported well below zero temperatures Saturday morning. One weather observer referred to it as, "An *extreme* low temperature this morning in Canaan Valley, WV. 7-9 am recorded actual temperature values of -31F. Just a mile from temps ~35 degrees warmer. Only ~100 miles west of DC. Decoupling and radiational cooling in action". Temperatures were on the rise and reportedly at only -11 soon after 9am.
